The Bilingual G2 studied “Role Models” in their first Unit of Investigation. A role model is someone people admire and try to imitate and who has great influence on children’s choices and actions. As advocated by the national compulsory education, it is necessary for children to develop important qualities by learning from good role models.
双语部二年级探究课第一单元圆满结题啦!在“我们是谁”这个单元中,孩子们的研究主题是“榜样”。心有榜样,行有标准,一个好的榜样对于孩子的成长至关重要。正如义务教育所提倡的,在学习榜样的过程中养成良好的思想品德和优秀品质也是少年儿童的必修课。

Learn from Historical Figures 学习名人轶事

We started the unit with stories of historical figures. The children of G2 discussed in group the qualities that these role models had and why they were inherited by generations of Chinese since ancient times.

我们从听取历史榜样人物的故事进入本单元的探究。孩子们分组讨论分析了历史榜样人物的优点,体会到什么样的品质是中华民族几千年来人们都认同的。

 


Share Stories on Campus 分享校园榜样

We learned about stories around us on campus. We invited some role models in school to share their experience on work and studies with us, including Mr. Tong, the Security Head, Amber Zhang, the WESer leader, Bob Wang, a good example of self-discipline, and Luke Li, our famous basketball player.

接着,我们分享了校园里的榜样故事,与榜样人物近距离交流,了解生活中的榜样是如何工作和学习的。我们邀请了学校的保安童队长、WESer领袖Amber姐姐、自律榜样王彦博哥哥和篮球高手李思凡哥哥与我们一起探讨如何做好日常学习和工作。


Analyze Qualities of Role Models 剖析优秀品质

Also, we explored the essential qualities of good role models by analyzing the eight good habits and the IB learner profile.

从剖析学校的八大好习惯所包含的优良行为习惯,到理解IB的十大素养内涵,我们一起解读榜样应具备的优秀品质。

Be Role Models 用行动去感受

By playing a game where we used our body language to pass a message to others, children learned how roles models could guide and influence other people.

通过《快乐传真》游戏,孩子们体会了榜样给别人带来的引导作用和效果,认识到要做好榜样,一定要坚持,每个细节都不能马虎,不然会像游戏中一样,不知不觉中变成另一种样子。

 

Determined to be a good example to other classes, we walked in the corridor without making any noise.

我们决定要做别的班级的榜样,安静整齐地在楼道里行走。

 

We reflected on ourselves.

我们对自己的现状进行反思和剖析。

 

 

In Yuhua Heritage Museum, we saw many inheritors of traditional crafts who demonstrated exactly the quality of persistence and devotion.

我们去了雨花区非遗馆,寻访了多位传统工艺的传承人,感受特殊行业的榜样们精湛的技艺和坚持的品质。

 


Presentation 做更好的自己 

At last, students made a presentation to the class on Being a Better Person.

最后,孩子们结合自己的特点,确定自己成长目标,向同学和老师勇敢的宣讲《做更好的自己》。


As reflection is an important component of this unit, students had a self-evaluation of their performance during this period. Parents and teachers also gave feedback.

探究结束后,孩子们对自己的探究学习做了自我评价。老师和家长也结合孩子本单元的进步认真的做了总结。反思是本单元的重要概念,今后的学习生活中,我们也会积极运用这个技能,促进自己成长。

Though this unit came to an end, we never stop reflecting on ourselves and moving forward.

这一个探究单元虽然已经结束,但我们不断自我反思,不断鼓励自己进步的脚步才刚刚开始……
